12/6/07 - The Feds had a great preseason. At Huckfest in Irvine, the Feds had a split squad for the first time. Will's Wazoos and Grill's Goons played well against the competition. Grill's Goons made it to the Semis and Will's Wazoos played against another split squad from Arizona in the Finals. The next stop for the Feds was So-Cal Warm up where they were certain there would be harder competition. With 1 squad the Feds placed 5th out of 16 teams. The mexicock honors went to Branden Murray and the rookie of the tournament went to Matt V. The outstanding play of the tournament went to a rookie David Ritchie for an awesome catch in the endzone against UCSB. With a A and a B team, the federalis are looking to compete with the other elite teams in the nation as well as build to a stronger future.

2005-2006 Season

3/18/2006 - Stanford Qualifier
After there third try getting a bid for the qualifier, SDSU Federalis got in after with impressive tournaments so far. They were ranked second in there pool behind rivals LPC and had a lot of work ahead of them in order to get a bid to the Invite. In the first round they played Whitman who had not played a game all season, but it didn't look like it. SDSU came out very sloppy and it seemed like Whitman wanted it more, winning 13-6. After that SDSU was disappointed and took those frustrations out on UCSD B 13-4. They had Santa Clara who was young, but had some athletes. SDSU already tasting victory stepped up there game and won 13-7. They then had to play rival LPC. After going up 7-3 the Feds again let it slip away as it came down to the wire and lost another nail biter 13-11/ They had Humboldt in the prequarters, and again came out lacking luster going down 5-1. They eventually woke up, but it was a little too late loosing 11-8. Then Chico St in a consolation game, but for SDSU they came to prove something. In a hotly contested game with a severe wind, and a lot of 4 man, SDSU came up big in the end winning 10-9. Again rematched against LPC, SDSU tired and not into it saw LPC runaway with the game was kept it close at times loosing 13-6 in somewhat of a throwaway game. Mexicock honors were awarded to Splash for his defensive efforts all week making great plays in big situations.

2/17/2006 - Trouble in Vegas
SDSU's biggest ultimate tourney in history as well as in college ultimate, which saw 64 men teams and 32 women teams travel from all lover the states to compete. SDSU was ranked 47th coming in and played St. Olaf from Minnesota. We came out lack luster and with a little wind our completions just were not there, loosing 13-6. After a sloppy game which saw us eak out a victory against UC Irvine. We played UBC B where we really broke out. Inspired by Steve Prodan's greatest as well as a disappointing first two games SDSU Federalis handed it to the Canadians 13-4. They had there hardest game next in an effort to jump up to the top 32 they had to play Dartmouth, who was ranked 15th at the tourney. We traded point for point with them and it was 9-9 universe point after great grabs by Ryan Chik. Unfortunately for the Federalis they lost but believe it was won of the best games they had played in the season. The loss continued as Co-captain Steve Prodan severely bruised his left knee and was out for the remainder of the tournament. SDSU with this new earned respect beat UNLV Sunday Morning 1309 and then played Chico St. They played well but sloppy and in a close game lost 10-9. They went on to Lewis and Clark. SDSU Feds came out quick and hard going up early and staying there up late in the game 10-7. Then with the wind beginning to pick up they started to deteriorate and end up loosing 13-11. The last game was against Georgia Southern. Again they were out to a quick start SDSU stormed out to a 9-3 lead, and then began to get lazy showing signs of fatigue. Georgia Southern played inspired ultimate, getting the big d's and SDSU making careless turnovers. It was 9-9, and with a chance to loose SDSU brought back what they had previously lack for the second half and put together a nice flow to win 10-9. On Monday SDSU came out soft against Oregon St still a bit demoralized by there almost breakdown against Georgia Southern. Oregon St. squad took it to the Feds and won fairly handily even though the score was 13-9. In there last game, they played a small USC squad and woke up a little and took it to them, winning 13-4. They learned a lot as it was the rookies first big tourney ever and one of the best quality tournaments the team and played in their short history. Rhamin Buckman who played hands down the best out of anyone with pin point hucks, great d’s, and hard cuts earned the mexicock honors.
